Dale Fitch is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Missouri. He received his MSSW (1984) and PhD (2001) degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has a broad range of social work experience including private practice, public mental health, and hospital social work largely focused around health and child welfare issues. Regarding the latter, he served on the Child Protection Teams at both the Oklahoma Children's Hospital and the University of Missouri Children's Hospital. His research employs systemic evaluative methodologies addressing topics that include program design and outcomes, information systems in human service organizations, and implementation issues with evidence-based practices.
Dale teaches across the undergraduate and graduate curriculum focusing on communities & organizations, policy, and management in human services organizations. He currently serves as the Board Secretary for Welcome Home, a homeless shelter for veterans, with prior board memberships including the Missouri Chapter of the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse, Washtenaw County Community Collaborative Child Protection Workgroup, Family Justice Organization National Advisory Board, and the Children’s Division, Child and Family Services Review Committee. In his spare time, Dale enjoys walking his dogs and watching Agatha Christie mysteries.
